I simply can't contain myself any longer. Listening to Rand Paul rant on about President Obama's so-called, "you didn't build that" remark. To the giant banners on the sides of the convention floor stating "We Built It". The entire convention is based upon a lie.
Anyone who has bothered to listen to Obama's entire speech that contained that remark knows what he was talking about. I can't even get my Conservative wife to listen to the whole thing. She feels that single sentence is all she needs to hear. That seems to be a common problem with many people of this nation.
When an entire event tries to build a common theme based on a lie. How am I supposed to take them seriously? The short answer is, I cannot! Why should I sit and listen to them as they whip up their base with blatant lies. I pride myself on the fact that I respect many Republicans. Both in the political arena and in personal relationships. But until the Republican Party can come to terms with their own falsehoods, I will ignore their Convention.
I have done my research, I know who the candidates are. I know both parties platforms on the issues. Those who need a Convention to spell things out are waaaay behind. Those are the folks who the Republicans are reaching out to, the uninformed. The problem I have with this is that Republicans are reaching out with lies. The scary part is that, as with any election, they can win by doing this.
Any group of people who would not just lie, but base their entire argument on that lie connot be trusted once elected. They did it in 2010 with Jobs, Jobs, Jobs. when in fact it was Morality, Morality, Morality. They will try the same thing again with another platform of lies.
